House of Dreams Independent Living
“Restoring Dignity, Rebuilding Lives.”
Prepared By: Director Nasira Johnson, Former Law Enforcement Officer and Founder of Multi-Site Recovery Housing Programs
Mission Statement
At House of Dreams, we believe that housing is not a privilege — it is a human right. Our mission is to provide safe, inclusive, and supportive transitional living for marginalized and underserved populations — including the mentally ill, physically disabled, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and the unhoused. With structure rooted in compassion, safety, clinical care, and faith, our homes create space for people to recover, regroup, and reimagine their lives.
Populations We Serve
• Adults (18+) experiencing chronic or situational homelessness
• Individuals living with mental health diagnoses (bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety, etc.)
• Persons with physical or cognitive disabilities
• Members of the LGBTQIA+ community needing affirming housing
• Those transitioning out of incarceration, foster care, or group homes
Intake & Assessment Process
Conducted jointly by the Director/Founder Nasira Johnson

Support residents in building a sustainable life through care, community, structure, and empowerment.
Resident House Rules (Core Expectations):
• No drugs, alcohol, weapons, or violence — zero tolerance.
• Respect for personal identity, space, and culture.
• Curfew and quiet hours enforced for safety and structure.
Our Future: Global Expansion
Starting in California, House of Dreams will expand to:
• Atlanta, GA
• Newark, NJ
• Chicago, IL
• Johannesburg, South Africa (pilot international home)
Our mission is global because homelessness, trauma, and exclusion don’t recognize borders — and neither does God’s grace.
“When society discards them, we embrace them. Where others see broken, we see becoming. House of Dreams isn’t just housing — it’s holy ground. It’s where people rediscover their worth.”
— Nasira Johnson, Founder & Director
